Griffin Security Agency Receives Award from

the Jamaica Business Resource Center

NEW YORK, NY-The Griffin Security Agency, a private security company specializing in comprehensive risk management and security programs, was named one of the Jamaica Business Resource Center's (JBRC) Clients of the Year, along with The Door Restaurant, at the JBRC Awards Gala.

The awards gala honors those who have provided support for the organization, as well as contributed to the advancement of diversity in New York City businesses. Specifically, Mr. Smith was awarded a Client of the Year award as one of the JBRC's clients that had successfully reached its set milestones. In 2002 alone, Smith's company increased its revenue by $3.5 million. The JBRC helped Mr. Smith to open doors and provided contacts that aided the company's growth.

The JBRC was established in 1994 by former President Bill Clinton as the model for his "One Stop Capital Shop" small business program. Since its inception, the JBRC has provided technical and financial assistance to over 6,000 businesses and gathered over $200 million in financing and procurement opportunities for small, minority and women-owned businesses. It has also provided business management training to over 3,500 entrepreneurs. In the past 10 years, 16 additional "One Stop Capital Shops" have been opened across the United States.
