The BEYOND training program is a proprietary curriculum designed especially by Griffin Security to train and hold officers to our security standards. As the name suggests, this comprehensive program goes BEYOND the knowledge required to "function" simply as a security officer.
In addition to providing the basic officer skills, Griffin Security's program takes training to the next level with in-depth modules and exercises. BEYOND develops officers with positive attitudes and the awareness, perspective, respect and conduct becoming of an individual hired to protect.
As you search for the right security provider, you will see that most training programs end after the first step—basic security and safety instruction. At Griffin Security, our officer training begins, but does not end with basic security and safety. All six steps to our BEYOND training program are necessary to produce the type of officer you want to represent your business.
The BEYOND program trains officers to naturally perform beyond the minimum expectations. Through BEYOND Training, Griffin Security officers are raising the bar and setting the Griffin Security standard.
The Six Steps to the BEYOND Training Program
Basic Security & Safety
The initial training module covers the whole spectrum of knowledge required to function effectively and efficiently as a security officer. The training is conducted by our team of specialized trainers and management and incorporates both audio-visual presentations and classroom instruction.
Ethics & Conduct
At Griffin Security, we believe that the service and attitude of our officers is critical. Because of this belief, the Ethics and Conduct module is a key part of the BEYOND Training Program including sessions on the role of a security officer, attitude, appearance and respect.
Yearly In-Services
Throughout the year, Griffin Security holds ongoing training sessions with each security officer. These sessions are conducted on-site and are designed to review in greater depth the specific requirements of the assigned post.
On-the-Job Hours
Each Griffin Security officer is required to log 30 hours of supervised on-the-job training before being appointed to a post.
Next Generation Technology
In today’s security industry, technology is becoming more important every day. Griffin Security includes a special module on the next generation tools and technologies available with the curriculum updated as the industry changes.
Definition of Service
Perhaps the most important aspect of training is the Definition of Service. During this step officers learn the importance of customer service, building trust with the public and even proper phone etiquette.
